What sequel do you prefer over the original instalment ? My top 5 are :

- The Dark Knight ( 2008 )

- The Godfather II ( 1974 )

- Terminator 2 - Judgment Day ( 1991 )

The Empire Strikes Back ( 1980 )

- Hot Shots! Part Deux ( 1993 )

Mad Max 2

Aliens (though Alien is just as good.)

Never seen Hot Shots! but your top 4 are solid picks.

SpoonyBard

All solid picks.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 might arguably be better than the first.

Blade Runner 2049

That's a tough one for me. 2049 has a better story but the first one is unforgettable in so many ways.

I agree . The original is one of the most iconic movies of the 80's in my opinion .

Most of my favorites have already been listed. The only glaring omission I see is The Wrath of Khan.

I prefer the sequel because i think it's a better film overall but i still love the original and i can't deny that it's an iconic film. It's still in my of my all time favourite films list and It's the main reason why i love the Cyberpunk genre.

Yes , Blade Runner along with : Terminator , Robocop , Tron , Videodrome and Akira are the best cyberpunk movies of the 80's in my opinion .

Videodrome

There's a movie you rarely hear mentioned. It's a great movie with James Woods and Debbi Harry (Blondie). It blew my mind when it first came out.

Yes , love Debbi and Blondie . Saw it first on VHS when I was younger . One of the movies that I found strange at that time but love it ( along with Akira and Brainscan with Edward Furlong ) .

Exactly what i'm looking for. I have seen some good "trippy" movies recently  (The Witch, Climax, Hereditary) but i haven't seen a "trippy" sci-fi movie in a while.

Jumanji 2 was a pleasant surprise. It might be better than the first.

The movie was enjoyable . I liked the ideea of the movie , the effects were nice , the cast was awesome ( Jack Black rules ) but somehow ( and surprising ) the chemistry and the dialogues between the characters was a little off , to me at least . I think the script was to blame  . The first Jumanji , people either love it or hate it . I personally do enjoy the movie to an extent , just because the late great master of comedy , Robin Williams , was in it .

Are you all kidding? The Empire Strikes Back was nowhere near as great as Star Wars, and even Return Of The Jedi was better.

All 3 are great movies , no doubt about that . I think it's all a matter of taste . Some people like something more than others . Nothing wrong about that .

Three-Eyed Raven

1. Swordsman II (1992) - I like this sequel better because Jet Li and Brigitte Lin is in this film, especially their scenes together makes it more dreamy to watch.

2. Once Upon a Time in China II (1992) - I like this one because of Donnie Yen and Jet Li. It shows more of their fight scenes together it's awesome.

3. A Better Tomorrow (1986) - This movie is by far the best film of this series. The other sequels isn't that worth it. Chow Yun Fat and Leslie Cheung makes this movie so interesting to watch and plus their are my favorite actors that's what makes it amazing. I never get tired of watching it.
